I worked and we played some games
31.10.2009
The deal for this trip, was that I would work one full day to make up for the extra vacation days I needed to go for 6 days like this.
So all morning, I emailed a LOT of travel-type people, to tell them that they are on our Top 500 Twitter Travel list.
If you haven't seen the list yet, please follow it here: http://www.twitter.com/travelpod/list
Arunan went out for a romantic walk amongst the fallen leaves with a ladyfriend of his and when he came back, we went with some other Couchsurfers to play games on the lawn of the Cathedral of Learning, organized by Adam.
He just loves obscure games. So much so, that he is putting together a festival of obscure games
I didn't have any running shoes, but no matter, I went around in my big black platform shoes that I foolishly wore this week.
We threw around his foxtail. A weird tennis ball with a tail at the end of it that you can catch, and then we played circle soccer, a really ingenious way of playing soccer with only one goal, and a giant exercise ball and then another game that was just invented, called fricket. Kind of a mixture of cricket and baseball, played with the aforementioned foxtail.
Some videos uploaded below document the day's events.
I didn't realize until it was pretty late, that wait a minute, there's Carnegie Hall! I was surrounded by all these famous architectural structures... *sigh*... how glorious.
Soon, it was dark, and we could hardly see the foxtail anymore, so we went for some food at Fuel and Fuddle. I had a "smashed potato" pizza (wha?)... it was delicious BTW.... and that was pretty much the extent of it.
