Flight to B-More
13.05.2010
George made me sleep at least a few hours before leaving for Baltimore, so that was good. I didn't want to bug him for a ride to the airport, so I figured I'd just stay up all night and sleep on the plane.
That never happens so George's idea was great. I got dropped off really early for my flight and I saw a lady from my church, Jan who was traveling with her friend Barbara to a Susan Boyle fan meetup in Texas. They were hilarious.
We both switched flights in Chicago, so I waited with them at their gate until they left and then I went over to mine. It seemed like all the other flights in the concourse were overbooked, so I asked our ticket guy if our flight was too. No such luck. Snap!
Anyway, the flight was uneventful. I noticed there were a lot of golf courses around Baltimore as we flew into the airport. Owen would probably like that a lot if he had a car.
I was supposed to be picked up at around 2 p.m. so I waited around outside at the arrivals sign, still no one was there. Then I borrowed some random guy's phone and called Owen, who was waiting for me inside. Sigh!
He dropped me off and then I walked all day long in the hot hot sun all the way to Fort McHenry, where that dude wrote the national anthem.
On the way back, I stopped for a rest at Tide Point which is a former industrial zone revamped into office space for a bunch of design firms etc.
Owen was just about done work, so I went back to Federal Hill area to meet him. I missed his call twice, so I was aimlessly walking around for no reason. These new fangled technological devices, I don't know how to use them.
We dropped off the zip car and it rained like a maniac. It was torrential! We decided to walk all the way back instead of getting in a cab. It was kind of hilarious until I realized my lavender-coloured shirt was pretty much nonexistent in the wetness.
We got changed and headed to Regi's, which is a restaurant where Jenna Bush apparently hangs out sometimes. There was a delicious meal on the patio and we walked home through cobblestone streets.
