Not prepared for this trip...
27.07.2008
So, I was a little confused last night as to what day I was leaving. I found out when WestJet sent me a "courtesy email" reminding me of my flight.
"Oh yeah, right, as if anyone forgets when they have a flight to catch...", I thought.
Oh my freaking GOD, my flight is TOMORROW. You've GOT to be kidding me. Wow...
That night, I did some serious packing. I had to cancel my volunteer shift at the Chamberfest, then drop my bicycle off for its yearly tuneup at Full Cycle, buy some dried fruit for trail mix and THEN finally pack my backpack.
When you're camping, you need a lot more stuff than normal, and this time was no exception. I stuffed my bag with very few clothes, sleeping bag, pots, thermarest and a big honking four person tent that really was NOT necessary. I called Keith to hammer out the last details and informed him there are a LOT of mosquitoes up North. He was shocked, and accused me of misleading him...AGAIN. So, I had no choice but to offer to bring him my extra bug suit. I'm such a great person. I had no time to do the dishes, so I left a sorry note for the cat sitter, along with her money of course.
