A trip to the waterfall, and getting kicked out
01.08.2008
Robert, again, woke up early and had breakfast ingredients all set up for us. I ate and hung out with Dave for a while. Felix came back from his morning kayak, and joined us. After which, we went back down to the beach for more water. There was one of those giant three wheeler tricycle paddle boat things, so we took it and went searching for the eagle Felix saw earlier. We paddled around and Felix and Julia (in the kayak) spotted it. I was completely oblivious and couldn't see it at all. Felix kept screaming, "IT'S THERE! IT'S THERE! LOOK!" It took about 10 minutes, but finally I saw it. Very cool. I remember seeing it yesterday at the beach. It flew overhead and I could feel the wind its wings made as it passed by. That's how strong its wings were I guess. We went back to the camp site, and it wasn't long before we were planning a little out trip. We all piled into cars and headed to a waterfall. Nobody bothered to tell me it was the kind you could swim behind, though. So I never packed my bathingsuit. I watched as everybody else jumped behind the rushing water into the tiny cave behind it. I watched with only a small bit of jealousy, since it was probably of sub-zero temperature. I briefly contemplated jumping in with my clothes on and Dave was egging me on. When suddenly, a park patrolman came to tell us to leave the park. There were rules against jumping behind the waterfall apparently. So we left, and when we got back, another scrumptious barbecue was waiting for us. Forgot to mention the magic show and balloon animal workshop, also provided by Robert. He's a pretty awesome, Sean Connery-type guy who has done all kinds of outdoorsy stuff in the Tsawassen area. Malika and I sand songs with her guitar until Felix started playing soccer with Julia, Marc and Zander. Zander fell and with great theatrics, dropped out of the game. "I'm not playing again until I get a kiss from everyone!" We sat around the campfire singing and talking. It was Christina's birthday, so we even had a cake for that. Zander gave me a big mug of port because he thought it was "gross". Gross! Whaaaaaaaaaaateverrrrrrr, so good. Ryan also bought a whole crapload of amazing fireworks while he was in town. He set it all up with Riad while we sand and had no idea what they were doing. So that was a really nice surprise, and a nice end to the evening.
