A Travellerspoint blog

Beach day!

Today was beach day. We went swimming for a bit in the gross muddy, sandy moss. There was barely any shade anywhere, so we sat under a small gazebo, watching people play in a volleyball tournament. I chatted with a reporter who was there to cover it while Keith just generally chatted and made a scene. After a restful refreshing day in the sunlight, we went back to camp, cooked some noodles and lounged around the campfire till bedtime. I also saw my first Northern Lights, so that was just amazing. They danced and turned vibrant shades of green, yellow, even pink and white. It really was something you have to see for yourself. A photo and mywords would not do it justice. I lay captivated on a rock the entire time. They lasted no longer than five minutes. I don't believe that this could be something anyone could ever grow tired of.
