Crazy hot
11.08.2012
Oh my I forgot how humid it is out here.
I woke Wookang up at 8 a.m. so that he could go and work on a presentation on dentist stuff with his school friends. We had the pastries from yesterday and printed off some maps.
It was surprisingly easy to find my way around, despite the complete lack of labels on the map. Wookang told me about a famous church near his house, and it happened to be Sunday, so I went in for the service. It was just a giant quonset hut filled to the brim with Presbyterians! Anyway, it was relaxing, the singing was nice, even with a string section, and I caught some words such as "muslims" and "olympics" in the sermon...
Then, I went to go see the old houses in the hanok (sp?)
I dunno, I guess I didn't really get it. There was not a lot to see, a couple of art installations and some museums of fans and paper. I can't read anything so I just wandered around. By the time I was bored of that, it was hottttt. I went to the river and was going to walk back the whole way, thinking it would be cooler there. It wasn't.
I'm glad I did though, because there were some old men gambling under one of the bridges. One of them motioned for me to sit down in the cool shade and so I did. Absolutely zero communication went on, but we laughed at each other a lot. I don't even know if what they were doing was legal, but I took a picture anyway.
On the way back, I stopped at a giant store and then got lost in it for a few hours looking for food. Finally I found it in the basement.
I walked back and sweat was pouring from me in buckets. I just stayed inside until Wookang came back.
