A Travellerspoint blog

Long day in Busan

Since we woke up really early, we headed down to Jagalchi fish market. An incredible amount of suffocating fish on display, flopping around, trying to survive. None of them will get out alive though. They will just end up dead in someone's stomach. Tear. In the fish market, we strangely had some pig soup. I dunno, Yun Gil's idea. I didn't ask.

From there, we went to Taejongdae park, to see the rocky cliffs and bright white lighthouse. It was quite the hike, with many stairs and hills and climbing on things.

We were super tired at the end, so we went to Spaland! It's supposedly Asia's largest spa, someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but it was awesome! Lots of different water temperatures in the pools. There was also a finnish sauna and outside there were three different hot springs and an elaborate "foot bath" area. In the co-ed section there are at least 10 steam rooms with different themes like "Turkish" "Roman" "Soundwave". I dunno none of them really made sense to me, and they were also really hot, so we didn't stay there very long. Then, I got a massage in a crazy robot massager. It was painful, should've got a real massage.

After all that, we were starvinggggggg so we headed to the famous Haeundae beach where we got takeout noodles and had a picnic. It was super windy and cold, so we didn't stay long.

From there, we kept going to Yongung-sa temple. I guess the only reason it's famous is because it's perched on a cliff by the sea. They were preparing for Buddha's birthday, so there were a million strings set up for the lantern festival. I have to get me to a temple on May 18 weekend to see whatever it is they do for their version of Christmas weekend.
