More hot springsssssss

It was raining again when we woke up, a lot. So outside things were cancelled.

Even though it's the end of April, we drove through snow to get to Yuseong. Canadians aren't the only ones getting a crazy spring this year.

Yuseong is a suburb of Daejeon and well known for many hot springs. They seemed like a good destination. Dave had never been to a "gingerbong" before so that was funny to make him frolic with hundreds of naked Korean men. I think he liked it, because we went to two. There's a lot of places to choose from, and I wasn't sure where to go, so we went to the most popular spa and a large jimjilbang.

The first one we went to had a bath but no steam room area, which is usually co-ed. It gets boring pretty fast when there is no one to talk to in the baths, so we went looking for one that will give you pyjamas and you can try different hot and cold steam rooms and lay in boiling hot piles of salt together. Hahaha. The cold room was at this one, and a lady in there put ice on our heads and tried to make us guess what the rocks looked like. Another room was about the temperature of lava. It burnt our faces off and we ran out.

All the pictures are about food, because I feel weird bringing a camera into a spa. Sorry.

Next week, hiking in Songnisan park, where there is a 33 metre tall golden Buddha: http://www.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/SI/SI_EN_3_1_1_1.jsp?cid=264126
