A Travellerspoint blog

One waterfall per day

First of all, this weekend I was going to couchsurf with this crazy old man in Jishou. He looked like a hippy Santa Claus and I was really excited. But it was not to be. My classes on Tuesday got cancelled and whenever that happens, you usually have to make it up on Saturday. So, I held off and did not buy a train ticket until Friday.

When I did get to the train station, they sold me a ticket for 10:30 p.m. It was about noon. :( The good side was that I got to go to a party in my building. Our "minder" was leaving for a job in Shanghai and we said goodbye to her and welcomed a new one.

After a couple of drinks and losing track of the time, I ran out the door to catch my train. Sadly, it was another uncomfortable train. Where you have to sit on a bench with two other people.

I managed to sleep a little bit but woke up at every station because the train jerks around so much.... yuck.
