Fenghuang at night

I got dropped off by the bus at a random corner that was not on my map, so I walked up and down one busy street until finally, I found one street that was. And I was way on the other side of the city where I didn't want to be.

I had nothing better to do, so I walked over to see if the hostel had any space. When I finally found the old part of town it was surprising to me because it was all lit up and there were a zillion dance clubs thumping out bass all night long. It looked neat, but I think it kind of negated the point of visiting this place. It's crowded and full of drunken people trying to navigate the uneven cobblestone streets and constant construction projects.

The hostel was just about to close but they had a few beds left so I said I'd stay for two nights. The lady at the desk spoke English pretty well and was also sleeping in the bed beside me (conveniently). So of course she wanted to chat all night. I wasn't that sleepy so I consented. I felt bad for the woman who wanted to sleep in our room, but she got her revenge on Sunday morning.
