Coogee to Bondi hike

OK, I thought, enough with the architecture and city life. What is a trip to Sydney without the BEACHES?! I spent the rest of the week wandering from beach to beach. Just amazing. This place is paradise.

The first hike I did was the "eastern coastal walk" from Coogee to Bondi beach. People were just motoring down the path jogging with their dogs and whatnot before work. I was just meandering around like I didn't have a care in the world. And really, actually, I don't think I do! I mean, what the actual eff!? What is my life right now? Just having fun and exploring, seeing things that I never thought I would, ever in the history of evers! It's amazing. Really… what… am… I… doing? Making my dreams reality over and over.

It's incredible what you can accomplish when you don't have anyone to answer to, like a landlord, or debt. It's complete freedom and I'm loving it. I feel so lucky to be able to follow my instincts and do this crazy thing that I'm doing. I have never felt so exhilarated in my life.

What are we here for, if not to experience everything there is on this planet? I don't think people were designed to be as sedentary as we are. I mean, we evolved this way, wandering and traveling. There's a reason we're all obsessed with the idea. Some of us act on it, and some of us don't. I'm not gonna speculate on the choices that other people make, but I think I'm on the right path over here. At least it's the right one for me. I think it's the only reason I have such a feeling of exhilaration all the time. It's completely fulfilling and amazing, something that I wish more people were lucky enough to experience it too. I am constantly grateful for everything I have at this moment. Like Louis CK said, "Everything's amazing, and nobody's happy"… count me out of the latter group. Anyway, back to the beach. All along the coastal walk there are various places to stop and enjoy the sunshine. Which I did, every single time. Today I didn't bring a lunch, so by the time I finally got to Bondi, I went in search of a lunch. What I found was a thrift store, where I immediately bought some quick dry shorts, in order to take a swim. It was actually too cold and I didn't swim, but I ate a bunch of Tim Tams, strawberries and drank a bunch of wine by myself and my new thrift store treasure-find "The Game", oh yes, that book about picking up women by Neil Strauss. As soon as I opened it I was ENGROSSED in this thing and finished half of it in one day!

I finished up the hike with a look at some aboriginal rock carvings in some rocks at a nearby golf course, then took the bus home, where I went out for Vietnamese food with Kelsey and her friends. The sound in the restaurant was strange, so I couldn't hear the conversation at all. That was OK with me though, I was too wiped to really be social, and the other people there didn't seem to mind when I only piped up every once in a while when the conversation got loud enough to drown out the others from the other side of the restaurant.

Oh and I also had "sarsaparilla" which I was excited about, but turned out just to be root beer, that's a little sweeter, I guess.
