Out and about

We all lazed around in the heat until lunch. Gabriel's family has a housekeeper so she made us amazing fried fish.

We went to the zoo but it was closed, so we went to another park that had monkeys and sloths in it. We only saw the monkeys.

Then we went to the docks to buy some tickets. The boat to Manaus leaves only once a week, on Wednesday, so I bought one of those. Then I needed to do something before then so I bought another ticket to an island nearby.

Michelle and Gabriel had been bickering all day about lots of things, there was some issue about a keychain that Michelle was supposed to bring from Paris but she didn't know about it so she was mad. I knew something was up. We looked all over for a keychain that might have come from Paris but couldn't find it.

When we got back to the house they got in a big fight while I was in the shower. Michelle came to my room to cry and talk about it. I invited her to come with me to the island if she needed time alone. At first she said yes but then she didn't wake up in time in the morning.

Anyway, it was Gabriel's birthday that evening so his mom ordered pizza and I tried to cheer Michelle up enough to enjoy it.

I also had an interview in China for a job I didn't want. It happened that the internet was off, so I found a neighbor and used his.
