To another beach

I got up real early, I thought I'd be smart. By the time I got to the bus station though, it was too late for the first bus out. This had an impact on the rest of my trip.

The second bus only left for algodoal at 9 am. By the time I got to the ferry, it was 1 pm and the tide was out. Therefore, we needed to wait 3 hours before we could leave.

It was a shame, but I had met two couples, a retired French couple and a young Brazilian couple, who relaxed and ate lunch with me by the docks. We spoke three different languages to each other but we still understood everything. Everyone spoke wonderful English but I tried to keep up with them in their languages . They had a lot of patience for my terrible French and Portuguese. It was very nice.

We all went our separate ways when we arrived at the island. There was no room at the Brazilians' pousada so the owners helped me find another cheap one. It was simple and nice and only 50 reais. Perfect.

I went straight to the beach and jumped around in the waves until it got dark. Then I bought some terrible fruit and yogurt for dinner and fell asleep while I finally finished watching inherent vice on my iPod.
