Another terrible boat

When we woke up, Daniella had a message from her friend that was also going to Manaus. He said that the boat would leave at noon, not 2 pm like I thought. So, we went to meet him directly at the docks. We had planned to go out for lunch but that wouldn't be happening unfortunately.

Daniella's sister volunteered to drive me around, stopping to look at the Tapajos and Amazon rivers colliding in front of the city and also to help me buy my ticket for the ferry. We said goodbye at the main market in town, where their friend (whose name I can't pronounce) helped me find stuff.

That guy couldn't speak any English, even though he said he was taking lessons at school. He rushed me back to the boat even though we had set up our hammocks already in a prime location and we were still two hours early for departure. Strange.

When we got back the boat was packed full of hammocks, including a huge old woman who spent her time swinging her hammock and colliding into mine.

I decided to move. I saw a big empty space but some jerks had spread their stuff all over the floor so no one hung their hammock there. I decided I would move their luggage and stay there, it was really unfair. Predictably the woman in charge of the pack started yelling at me. I even heard her say she wanted to cut my hammock down. I just laid down and slept. They found someone to speak nonsensical English to me and there was no way to understand any word he was saying so they just moved their crap out of the way, like they should have done at the beginning of this whole thing.

I guess I was hungry because I ate most of my cheese and crackers that day already. Oops.

I spent the rest of the day and night finally finishing Clarissa harlowe. Yessss!

One of my ideas was to possibly sleep on the top deck of the boat, but at around 8 pm a crazy sandfly attack happened. They covered the floor, committed suicide against the lights and clogged up the sinks. I found some still fluttering in my hair as I got ready for bed. Disgusting.
