Moved to the hostel
13.07.2016
So I went to the hospital which was amazingly efficient and fast. I got yet another prescription for anti biotics. The third one.
They also tried to give me some sort of iv, but I just panicked before they could put it in my arm and I took off like a gazelle into the grasslands. I don't know why, I just freaked out.
So from there I needed some sort of stability and I found myself at hostel Manaus. The same place that I looked at the tours to compare prices yesterday. They remembered me and gave me a bed in a dorm all by myself. It was wondrous.
I slept the rest of the day and woke up to go out for some cadeira de tambaqui, fish soup basically. It was awesome and I ate with some Chinese tourists who were also going to the orchestra.
They bought a giant barbecued tambaqui and we went to the theatre together.
The theatre is very interesting because all the box seats are free and the floor seats are about $7. We managed to get some free seats and I really enjoyed the performance. The sound in the old theatre was fantastic and the musicians were perfect of course. They played americano, west side story and rhapsody in blue.
I walked home along streets that were deserted at 9:30 pm! Amazing how a city of 2 million can be so empty. All the pharmacies were closed and my ear was killing me again. Finally I found one and picked up more medication. I fell asleep quickly again of course.
