A Travellerspoint blog

So tired

I stayed in bed all morning, feeling way too sick to go outside in the cold.

Noon came around and I was getting kicked out of my room. Franciele still wasn't there. I had to go out and walk around. I visited the museum which has a giant shark in it and not much else.

The architecture was lovely once again. It's the oldest settlement in Brazil, settled in the early 16th century.

I saw the fat guy sitting around smoking and drinking guarana pop. He asked me what happened and I just told him the truth obviously. I was sick and it was quite obvious. I was wandering around shivering and blowing my nose in a stolen toilet paper roll.

I went looking for a hammock but couldn't find one. I kept checking my emails for Franciele but there was no sign of her. Finally at 3 pm she said she was coming. At 3:30 they were there!

I was reunited with all my stuff again. Not happily, I would say. It's freaking heavy. At least I had some clean pants.

We drove to her friend's house where we were staying the night. There was a blues festival that weekend so we went to that after dinner of homemade frittata.

I couldn't drink and everyone around was stupid drunk. I was freezing cold the whole time. When the show was over I felt relieved, but they all wanted to go to a house party. It was close by so I agreed to go. However, it was not really inside the house and it was also freezing. I borrowed Francieles sleeping bag and wore it like a cape.

Eventually they got tired of the sartaneja music and we went home. I thought I would die.
