Going back home

This morning I woke up to Aurora putting ice cold water on my face. She says goodbye and Kelly, Wanda and I go to the mall and I buy a Cherry Poppin' Daddies CD and a ree Killjoys poster. Later we go to the airport and are almost late for our plane. Quickly we say goodbye to Lori, Gwen and Wanda.

Back to Regina

Today we went to a small emu farm/petting zoo, boring once again. I asked the lost and found for my watch but it was not there *pout*. We then ate lunch and took off for Regina. We stopped along the way at a bed and breakfast and ate some cake. I got peach pie and Lori and Wanda both got mould on their chocolate mousse *gross*. After that episode we sat in the van for another three hours back to Regina and we had our closig ceremonies and Kelly Volk and Lliana left. :( Meanwhile Kelly Foyle, Aurora, Wanda and I went to Gwen's house to sleep over before our flit. We packed and repacked our stuf just perfect. Aurora went to go meet her best friend that was in town. We slept at Gwen's that night and I thougt I was in my own bed.

An elk farm, the Super Slides, and losing my watch

Today after we woke up, we went to see an elk farm (boring) and Cannington Manor where we played croquet and made rope. Later we went to the organic farm where I bought soup and candy for whoever. After that, we drove back to camp, got changed and went to the Super Slides where I almost met a really cute guy hee hee (stupid leaders). The slides were pretty fun, but also very boring at the same time. So I just ended up sitting on the grass getting a tan. I also lost my watch. :( After this, we went back, had supper and made a craft at Joanne's. Stupid stupid stupid! And then... it rained. Again. Blah. Me and Red Kelly tried to stay up for the sunrise but it didn't happen.

An oil refinery and a pow wow

Today we woke up, ate breakfast and took down our tents in a matter of an hour. We went to the rodeo museum and I just sat there looking through old photo albums. Then we went to go watch a coboy mass. It was really bad. They were trying to get us to join their cult and they were saying that if we prayed, Jesus would give us anything we wanted. Then, we went to an Orthodox church. It was very pretty for such a small one. After that, we drove and met some Rangers in Weyburn, who gave us a delicious supper. Then we drove to Kenosee to set up camp and tour an oil refinery. Bad BAD mosquitoes. EVIL! They all bit my face. Later, we went back to camp and went to a pow wow where I bought a hacky sack hat! And danced in a friendship circle. Then we went to bed and I kept rolling down the hill.

A rodeo and the petroglyphs

When we woke up we found that everything in our tent was SOAKED, so we took everything out and tried to dry it in the cloud covered sun. We packed up and were off to Ponteix. When we got there, we ate lunch at a museum, which was boring again. :( Then we got back in the van and stopped at Gravelbourg at the "Our Lady of Assumption" cathedral which was very pretty. When we arrived at Wood Mountain, we set up our tents and ate supper and went to the rodeo. It was horrible! They hurt the calves and one horse wouldn't even get up to buck around. After that, we went to the Petroglyphs on the side of a mountain. They are carvings put there thousands of years ago by the natives. They told of how the animals help to teach man how to survive in the wilderness. Later, we went to pick Saskatoon berries to put in our pancakes tomorow morning.

Fort Walsh and Cypress Hills

Today we drove to Fort Walsch and we explored the fort and watched a video and fashion show. It was altogether very boring :( We stopped at the Conglomerate Cliffs and it was an awesome, inspirational sight. After that, we drove back to Cypress Hills and our van broke down and we got a ride to horseback riding. I didn't have pants. Can anyone say blisters? We walked back to our site and then walked to the showers. Very far! After waiting over 45 minutes for a shower, it started to pour! I mean POUR! So, we waited in the washroom till it just about stopped and walked back. The other people were not there though. They had gotten lost on the way back and made a park ranger drive them back. We were so tired, that we went straight to bed.

Hiking in Cypress Hills

Today we went for a morning hike in the Swift Current hills and packed up our things and left. We drove for another two hours to Cypress Hills. When we got to Cypress Hills, we set up our tents and went for a swim in the dirty, dirty lake. The minnows were HUGE! So I got out in a matter of minutes and laid on the beach with my Irvine Welsch book and I swear to God I had ticks in my skin. Oh well. Then we went back, ate supper and went for a 2.5 km hike in the forest. We also saw a MOOSE! It was eating right by the road!

Lightning and gramaphones

Today we woke up at 7 a.m. and left for Swift Current at 8:30. TIRED! We stopped at a tourist place and took a picture of a big moose. Then we drove to Swift Current and picked up another Kelly at the mall. We ate lunch, I bought some stuf for mom (jelly and juice) and we drove to our campsite. It is HOT! Not humid, dry and hot. We set up our tents and I jumped in the creek. I figured out how to work the organ so I started playing it. I took a little nap, ate supper and then we went on a small hike and we saw actual cactuses and flowers. Then we walked to this old man's house and listened to his gramaphones. Then it started to rain and we attempted to make banana boats. The lightning is so cool. You can se huge lightning streaks everytime you look up. Very amazing.

Touring the Red Coat Trail

I arrived at Pearson Airport at 7:30 a.m. Pretty good for leaving home at 6 huh? I already miss everyone lots! I had to check my bag in special and I don't think i'll be getting it back :( Scary. Airports are cool. Always bustling, people going their totally different ways. When I got to my plane I met Kelly, a girl from Montreal. And at Regina, I met Laurie, Barb, Gwen (leaders), Leanna and Wanda (from Saskatchewan) and Aurora from BC. We went to go see the RCMP headquarters and we watched a parade and walked through the museum. We went to the legislature building. We went to Bonanza for supper and we met Stacey. Rushed to see another RCMP parade and we went to the Regina Girl Guide office to have a campfire and go to bed.
