The museum of flying stuff?

I can't remember what this place was called, but it was kind of awesome.

I kept getting in trouble for having water in a paper cup. Bah!

Civil War stuff!

Wow, I have never been to Gettysburg but we finally made it.

After many trials and tribulations, including not finding a source of veg oil, looking for some obscure filter for Ryan's van apparatus, sleeping in the back of the van when it broke down, being woken up by some angry villagers pounding on the side of the van, sleeping in the middle of a baseball field just because there were porta potties nearby...etc. etc. etc.

This is where the bus really broke down

In the middle of nowhere at a giant truck stop.

I am smiling because it's so absurd

This is where the air conditioning broke down

It was so hot, and then the air conditioning broke. Here they are, herding us in the bus like lambs to slaughter.

It got even better...

The mountains got even bigger and the temperature cooled right down, in the mountains of Colorado. Sigh. I will have to go back there sometime.

Sunset in Utah

Utah was beautiful. I remember watching the sun go down over the mountains and just staring and staring out the window while listening to Cat Empire over and over.

There was a horse at our rest stop

So I had to take a picture of me with it.

This is where our bus' air conditioning started to break down.

Barstow Station

Man this place is a cheesy tourist's delight.

I guess in the past it was a train station. Now it's full of knick knacks and cheesy things, including a McDonald's in a passenger train car.

It's popular because it's exactly half way between Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

Welcome to Barstow Station!

Taking the Greyhound back

Nothing much happened, I left San Jose really late at night.

Hottttttttttttttt

It was so hot here. Holy god.

It was quite the experience, but I'm NEVER going back. Ever.

That's the reason why I look so mis-er-a-ble.

It's not as great as the Yukon...

Well, everyone says you have to go to Yosemite.

Everyone obviously has never been to the Yukon...

If you have been following this blog, I had just left northern Canada for California. Upon visiting Yosemite, I was not impressed by a long shot. Giant snow capped mountains were a daily vision in the Yukon and there definitely were not crowds of people trying to catch a glimpse of a tiny waterfall... Anyway, I'm warning all you Canadians used to snow and mountains and giant waterfallses, this place is over-hyped. You're better off in the desert. Seriously, skip it and go straight to Death Valley. Don't even look back.
