We arrived in the morning to the most awesome city I have ever seen. Other people describe Helsinki as a mini St. Petersburg and I agree. There are sweeping broad avenues and huge public squares. The Russian influence is everywhere. Sigh.
We walked around the west side of town and found an old mental institution. a cool old graveyard. the Sibelius monument and the president.s official residence... I think.
At the end of that was an island with a bunch of historical buildings an some very aggressive squirrels.
We met our next couchsurfing host Harri at thetrain station nearby his house.
When we got there he was just saying goodbye to some Hong Kong surfers. From there we went to the weekly meeting where I met Arto who invited me nd dad to a real Finnish sauna. Yay. Dad didnt want to go so I went and had a nice time eating strange Finnish food and listening to strange Finnish music. Arto even drove me all the way back to Harri.s place afterwards.
I liked this, that´s our boat in the back
Some sort of palace
Me vs. veggie balls
Me vs. Helsinki metro
The graveyard again
Old pile of rocks
More old houses
Me vs. I dunno what
Me vs. Finnish beer
Me vs. Finnish pastie thing
Me vs. cheese?
